The Structure of SHS Grading & Reporting
Course Summary Page
1. How am I Doing? (Possible Grade) - The potential grades that a student may earn at the end of the semester. This grade range (A/B, C/B, D/F, etc.) is based on how competent the student is in each course standard. Competent in ALL standards is represented by an A. More information about the status of each standard can be found by clicking the course name.
*Important Note: If a yellow warning triangle appears next to the grade range, please click the course name and review the distribution of proficiency scores for each standard. This warning signals that the overall proficiency of a standard or standards is too close to call and should be discussed with the teacher.
2. How am I Growing? (Weekly Academic Growth) - The progress each student is making toward proficiency in each target and standard. Progress is determined by all evidence produced by the student for a given week and is displayed as either AG (adequate growth), MG (minimal growth), and FG (failing to grow). A score of I represents Incomplete. A score of IP means that learning is in progress and growth can not be judged at this time.
3. How am I Behaving? (Weekly Behavior Concerns) - A student's learning habits and behaviors are reported in this section. If there is a concern about any of the student's actions, the word "Yes" will display. More information about the concern can be found by clicking the course name. Codes of CN signal a concern of a student's behavior, [BLANK] signals all behavior is appropriate, and PS signals behavior that is exemplary.
4. Missing Evidence? - If a student has any missing quizzes, tests, or other performance events, a "Yes" will display in this column. More information about what is missing can be found by clicking the course name. Codes of M or N signal a missing assessment.
5. Missing Homework? - If there is any missing homework, "Yes" will appear in this column. More information about what is missing can be found by clicking the course name. Codes of M, N, NP, or 0 signal a missing status
